The Carpenter's Shop is dedicated to offering outstanding service and products to its customers. Our focus is based first on service and

History
Calvin Horning was born in Goodville, Pennsylvania on the old homestead, where his grandfather's woodworking business was located. Calvin
was exposed to the woodworking industry at a young age and began working for the business when his father had taken over.
Calvin always longed to relocate to the mountainous region of northern Pennsylvania, one of the major sources of hardwoods. Thus, in 1984, Calvin began working as a self-employed contractor in Coudersport, Pennsylvania.
In 1987, Calvin started The Carpenter's Shop as a sole proprietorship. The facility was designed and operated as a business specializing
in custom architectural millwork, primarily for contractors and private home owners. In January 1994, The Carpenter's Shop became
incorporated as an 'S' corporation and Calvin still maintains 100 % of the stock. Initially, Calvin was the owner and sole employee of
the business, but in 1990 the number of employees started growing and continues to grow today.
Calvin takes pride in quality results, but even more so in providing quality service. Calvin is energized and ready for the future of
